Road to Success * Novoye Russkoye Slovo is the world’s oldest and largest Russian_language newspaper in the United States is celebrating its 99th year. During this time Novoye Russkoye Slovo has acclimated its Russian readers to the culture, history, and politics of the United States, thereby helping newly arrived Russian immigrants adjust to and take pride in their adopted homeland.
Established We are the oldest Russian_language newspaper in the world – and in North America! We began printing in New York City in 1910 and have not missed an issue since. Novoye Russkoye Slovo translates into “New Russian Word” in English. It is transliterated from the Cyrillic ÍÎÂÎÅ ÐÓÑÑÊÎÅ ÑËÎÂÎ

In addition, we also offer articles and editorials covering a wide range of topics; from sports to art and theater to celebrity gossip, there is something for everyone in the pages of NRS.

Circulation & Distribution Novoye Russkoye Slovo offer articles and editorials covering a wide range of topics; from sports to art and theater to celebrity gossip, there is something for everyone in the pages of NRS. • We have teamed up with the New York Times to increase distribution throughout the NY Metropolitan area up to 41000. • NRS also maintains its own distributors in order to reach more Russian communities throughout the United States and Canada. • We have recently added Home Delivery for people living in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts and Virginia.

NRS was extremely involved in the Census 2000 campaign; educating the Russian_Speakers about what the Census is and how it affects all of the people living in the United States.
After the census was completed, NRS received an award from the US Census Bureau for Positive Contribution to the Census 2000 effort.

Demonstrating a correlation between education and income levels, the 2000 Census found that the average income for a Russian-Speaking household is $52,321, significantly higher than the national average of $41,994 and the New York City average of $43,393. There are 4,961,778 Russian-Speaking people living in the United States and Novoye Russkoye Slovo is the ONLY newspaper in the Russian language for them to read!
